Two Holiday Valley racers,
Sophie Sellstrom and Taylor Heppner have a good weekend in Maine.  Sophie finished with a 10th in GS, a 22nd in Super-G and a 27th in Slalom.  Taylor finished with a 22nd in Super-G, a 33rd in Slalom and a 62nd in GS. Click for all results.

NFSC Names J4 State Championship Team

  Twelve athletes from Holiday Valley have qualified to race at the J4 State Championships at Toggenburg Mountain March 13th and 14th.  Women:

Top Racers NFSC J6, J5 & J4 Racers Named

The Niagara Frontier Ski Council named it top racers for the season.  Holiday Valley took four of the six spots.  Paige Duffy was named top J6 girl, Anya Elizondo was named top J5 girl, Emelie Selinder was named top J4 girl and Tommy Shantler was named top J5 boy.

J5 Tommy Shantler (1st) tops all boy racers, regardless of age class.  The other J5 finishers were: Dylan Thomas (6th), P.J. Walsh (7th), Nick Scott (10th), Eric Schafer (24th), Mark Caponi (28th) and Daniel Caponi (31st).  The J4’s were led by Max Scott (7th), Nick Costanzo (9th), Ben Finicle (13th), Jack Hurley (16th), Sean Wright (21st) and Sean Duffy (22nd).  The J6’s were lead by Phillip Vance (3rd), Bode Vance (4th) and Alex Wojnowski (6th).

J6 Girls Sweep The Podium At Opening Peek ‘n Peak Slalom

Page Duffy (1st), Candi Kasahara (2nd), Elinor Selinder (3rd) and Hayly Fredrickson (4th) start the season off right for the J6 girls.  The J5 girls were led by Anya Elizondo (1st), Joran Lyford (13th) and Christina Randazzo (23rd).  The J4 girls also finished strong, Emelie Selinder  (2nd), Hanna Kreuzer (5th), Mehvish Khan (6th) and Madeline Evans (14th).

Alex Wojnowski (4th) led the J6 boys.  The J5 boys finished: P.J. Walsh (6th), Nick Scott (10th), Jesse Both (22nd), Eric Schafer (24th) and Mack Hurley (29th).  Max Scott (7th) led the J4 boys, with Ryan Duffy (15th), Ben Finicle (18th), Kaison Lavicka (20th) and Sean Wright (28th). 

J1 & J2 Racers Hit The Slopes Of Holiday Valley And Holimont

Ben Gordon led Holiday Valley’s J1 & J2 racers with a 4th place finish in the J1 Holiday Valley SL on Saturday and a 3rd place finish in the J1 Holimont SL on Sunday. 

Saturday at Holiday Valley Zach Vader was next in 18th for the J1 men.  John Okal (13th) and Jake Sellstrom (22nd) placed for the J2 men.  The J1 women were placed high with Alexis Main in 6th and Alexandra Opiel in 10th.  The J2 women, Dana Druzbik (3rd), Christine Moloney (7th), Mallory Keener (10th) and Audrey Parenti (30th), had an excellent day.

Sunday at Holimont was more of the same for the J1 men and women; Ben Gordon 3rd and Chris Wadsworth 8th for the J1 men, and Hilary Digel (7th), Alexis Main (9th) and Alexandra Opiel (13th) for the J1 women.  John Okal (18th) and Jake Sellstrom (22nd) placed for the J2 men.  Mallory Keener (13th), Dana Druzbik (26th), Audrey Parenti (29th) and Christine Moloney (31st) rounded out the J2 women finishers.  Click for all results.

The Kissing Bridge SL will be held on February, 7 2010. Registration will be the same as other races (The NYSSRA website does not currently list this race).

Holiday Valley Slush Cup #1 - Slush or no slush, the great racing continues. Tom Scheeler edges out Miguel Azcarate (3rd place) to win day one of the Slush
Cup. Chris Wadsworth followed in 16th and John Okal in 25th. Five Holiday Valley women finish in the top ten: Christine Moloney (4th), Maddie Brown (5th),
Dana Druzbik (8th), Corrie Keener (9th) and Mallory Keener (10th). Hilary Digel and Audrey Parenti round out the good results with 14th and 24th place finishes.

Holimont Spring GS - Spring hasn’t slowed them down. Tom Scheeler wins the Saturday GS, followed by strong runs by Chris Wadsworth (14th) and Jared
Furnia (16th). Sunday’s preformances continued strong with Jared Furnia winning, Tom Scheeler second, Chris Wadsworth 22nd and Jake Sellstrom 33rd.
Christine Moloney and Maddie Brown, again lead a strong women’s contingent with 7th and 9th place finishes in Saturday’s GS. Corrie Keener finished 11th,
Alexis Main 12th, Mallory Keener 14th, Audrey Parenti 28th and Alexandra Weiner 30th. Sunday’s race brought even more good performances from the Holiday

J3 Junior Olympics, Gore Mountain - Maddie Brown and Christine Moloney have a good weekend of racing at the Junior Olympics. Maddie placed 48th in the
